The horse-drawn carriages kept in the National Stud farms - like here at the Haras National du Pin in the Orne department - date from the second half of the 19th century and the first quarter of the 20th century. Like all means of transport over seventy-five years old, they, therefore, fall into the category thirteen of collector's vehicles defined by the regulations on the circulation of cultural goods of December 31, 1992. These former work tools now enjoy the status of objects of antiquity and are part of the national heritage. Fifty-three horse-drawn carriages are even protected as Historical Monuments.
