Weaver nests are protected from predators in different ways. First, they hang on the end of small branches. Then, the access to the nesting chamber in their central part is through a tunnel on the lower part of the nest. This prevents from the intrusion of predators, including snakes. Finally, despite their fragile appearance, weaver nests are strong and securely stowed.
