The coral reefs offer micro-habitats which are refuges against environmental stresses and ecological niches that guarantee a high biodiversity. They are also used by small fish as a model of mimicry to camouflage and protect themselves from their predators. Some settle on corals at dusk to go unnoticed when their predators hunt at night.
