Sand casting is a foundry process that uses an imprint made in sand from a model. It is used to mold materials with a high melting point such as cast iron (1 400° C / 2 553° F). This technique is particularly suited to the production of large parts and to small and medium series. GHM has a fleet of frames to adapt to most shapes of part. If necessary, the Mechanical Division can produce custom-made frames. Thousands of molds are conserved .
