The majority of the islands and islets of Provence and Côte d'Azur (French Riviera) benefit from at least one protection status. They are either part of national parks, listed sites, Special Protection Areas (ZPS), or Special Areas of Conservation (ZSC). Only the six islets of Bendor, Grand Gueirouard, Lion de Mer, Lion de Terre, and Rochers des Pendus Est et Ouest do not benefit from any protection framework.
