Driving harness with blinkers

0
On the driving harnesses used at the Haras National du Pin, the blinkers are correctly placed, stabilized, and carefully adjusted for each horse in order to completely fulfill their function. The flange uprights are positioned in such a way as to remain in place on the side when the guides are taken up, without letting any space between the side and the upright. The blinkers allow the team to remain undisturbed in its concentration on the line to follow by directing the horses' oversized field of vision forward. In certain heavy draft practices (agriculture, forest work), less nervous draft horses can work without blinkers insofar as the heaviness of the load to be towed. The resulting reduced speed limits the danger of runaway in the event of fright.
