The Tellure park stands above a former silver mine from the 16th century. The accumulation of haldes (rubble) signaled ongoing mining activities back then. In the Middle Ages, they were raised from the galleries using hand-winched buckets, then hydraulic machines. The rubble was pilled next to the entrance to the mine and formed massive heaps. The newcomers would evaluate the importance of the mine from the height of the piles. Their composition left numerous clues about extraction activities and revealed mining equipment, such as pointerolles (chisels) and wooden troughs.
