Fountains from the 16th century

Riquewihr has several 16th-century fountains. The fountain of the Sinne, erected in 1560, operated the gauging of the wine barrels and other containers to check their capacity. At its top, a heraldic lion bears the coat of arms of the lords of Horbourg, representing a star. It also displays Württenberg's deer antlers and a star, symbols of Riquewihr. The Fountain of the Jews built in 1551 is one of the many heritages retracing the life of Jewish people in the village.
