Large-flowered jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum) is a species of the genus Jasminum of the Oleaceae family which has been the subject of specific cultivation in the town of Grasse since the mid-17th century for its use in perfumery. Its white-star shaped flowers are grouped by 2 to 9 in axillary or terminal cymes. Each flower consists of a corolla made up of five 0.5 to 0.8 inches (13 to 22 mm) oblong petals. The large-flowered jasmine's very fragrant flowering extends from May to September in the Grasse region.
