Flowers with a nectar-filled spur
1
0
The genus Delphinium - represented here by what seems to be a comfrey dolphinel (Delphinium consolida) - includes around 300 species of plants in the Ranunculaceae family. They are characterized by their nectar-filled spur that gives their common name of larkspur. The flower's pollination is made by insects with tongues long enough to reach the nectar at the bottom of the spur, such as bumblebees and butterflies.
