Boxwood and beech are the two species mainly used for wood turning. The important presence in the wild of boxwood in the south of Jura where it invades all the undergrowths has contributed to the development of this activity in the region. A 'noble' species, boxwood is a hard wood with an incomparable polish but quite difficult to work. In addition, its use is ecological since it comes from the waste of wood cuts or forest maintenance works.
