While the best-known beaches of the Côte Fleurie (Flowery Coast) are in Deauville, Trouville, Honfleur, Houlgate, and Cabourg, others can only be discovered at low tide, such as the Graves beach, in Villerville, overlooked by the cliffs of the Roches Noires (164 ft /50 m high). Fossils are sometimes found there in the sand. In Cabourg, the memory of Marcel Proust still lingers over the Belle-Epoque resort in the evening. The Cœur Côte Fleurie community of communes was the first to receive a certification for the quality of its bathing waters.
