From the dunes of Cabourg to the hills of Houlgate

Located in the heart of the Dives estuary at the eastern end of the Promenade Marcel Proust, the dunes of Cabourg in the Calvados department form a narrow cordon of sand and vegetation between the river and the sea. They face the wooded hills of Houlgate, another seaside resort on the Côte Fleurie (Flowery Coast). Just like Cabourg, it was also born in the second half of the 19th century from a simple Norman fishing village.
