Meticulous wax decorations

The Cornille-Havard foundry is heir to a long tradition of bell casters who have been established in Villedieu-les-Poêles since the end of the Middle Ages. Every bell cast there is unique and so is its decoration. One can see here the meticulous decorations made of red wax. In addition to the bells for Notre-Dame de Paris, Cornille-Havard has also cast eight bells for the church of Notre-Dame of Loreto in Ghajnsielem (Gozo-Malta) and the drone for St. George’s Cathedral in Beirut (Lebanon). The foundry’s reputation has long extended outside the French borders.
