It comes as a surprise that most of the vineyards of the Montagne de Reims have a northern exposure. The grapes ripen here thanks to a particular climatic phenomenon. The cold evening air descends towards the plain and the warm air that has formed during the day on the plateau descends on the vines, all associated with the thermal regulation imposed by the forest. The degraded oceanic climate of the Champagne region is characterised by hot summers and long, harsh winters.
