Ideal conditions for kitesurfing

Beyond obvious technical skills, the practice of kitesurfing requires a good appreciation of the direction and force of the wind. Onshore and cross-onshore sea winds or onshore crosswinds offer the best conditions for kitesurfing, while the other directions (offshore, cross-offshore) require certain expertise and intensive training. The flat zone extending over 1,312 ft (400 m) and protected by a coral reef as well as the constant wind from Pointe Faula are conducive to the practice of this discipline demonstrated here by the Martinican champion Mickael Neral. This beach in the municipality of Le Vauclin in the southeast of Martinique has become the most popular spot for kitesurfers on the island.
