Food dependence of the blue wildebeest

The Blue Wildebeest is a ruminant that feeds only on grass and needs to drink regularly. Among the animals sharing the same diet (zebra, springbok, oryx, hartebeest and ostrich), it is the first to suffer from the scarcity of food. Its water needs being much larger, it cannot move more than 9.2miles (15km) from its water point, against more than 18.6miles (30km) for others.
