Deformities and traumas

Isolated and in a favorable environment, the common spruces (Picea abies) present the classic pyramidal profile of the Christmas tree of the collective imagery. On the other hand, more restrictive environments - very windy, with shallow soils or subjected to pastoralism - distort and traumatize them. The trunks become scraggy, the needles deteriorate, only the leeward twigs develop, the photosynthesis is slowed down and the general appearance of these trees is much more stunted.
