The territory of the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park has an afforestation rate of nearly 60% and benefits from a long forestry tradition linked to the production of timber and fuelwood. On the scale of the massif, the wood removal is estimated around 60,000 cubic meters per year. Shared between public (43%) and private (57%), the forest of the Massif des Bauges is managed by the Office National des Forêts (National Forestry Office) and two groups of forest owners.
