Seven to nine months in the pastures

The Montbéliardes cows of La Grange de la Haute Vallée spend seven to nine months a year in the farm's naturally fertilized pastures. They freely consume 132 to 154 lbs (60 to 70 kg) of fresh grass per day there. In winter, the cows stay in the barn, where they benefit from a diet based on hay, of which they absorb about 33 lbs (15 kg) per day.
