The move of the Tortoise Village from Gonfaron to Carnoules in 2017 was linked to the expansion plans of the center's director, the veterinarian Franck Bonin (on the left), and his team. On more than 7 acres (3 ha) inspired from their natural habitat, the 1,500 or so residents of the site benefit from more luxurious and spacious facilities. The Tortoise Village is now equipped with sheltered spaces, bodies of water, a vast greenhouse for the most exotic turtles, a specialized clinic (photo), and treatment rooms.
