The vineyard of the Côte-de-Provence PDO, on the Var maritime border where Bréçancon Castle stands, stretches from the Mediterranean Sea to the Alps over 49,421 acres (20,000 ha). It crosses 84 municipalities of the Bouches-du-Rhône, Var and Alpes-Maritimes departments and is divided into three designations: Coteaux Varois en Provence (photo), Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, and Côtes de Provence.
