In the Massif des Ocres of the Luberon Regional Nature Park, from Roussillon to Gignac, via Villars, Gargas, and Rustrel, the old ocher quarries of the Apt valley have emerged from the oblivion in which they were plunged since the decline of their artisanal exploitation. Hiking trails have been opened and belvederes created to allow visitors to discover these ancient deposits kneaded by the weather after being dug by shovels and pickaxes for two centuries.
