The chemical transformation known as saponification takes place in the cauldron room of the Fer à Cheval soap factory. The process happens under the effect of the strong heat produced by the vapors of boiling water escaping from seven massive tanks. Despite an industrial decor, everything is done manually and controlled by the house's master soap maker, Michel Bianconi.
