Water is essential for the life of the Przewalski horses, which drink thirty to sixty liters of water per day. The equids of the Monts d'Azur biological reserve can drink and bathe in the waters of Le Loup river. It takes its source at 4,101 ft (1,250 m) of altitude in the wooded heights of the municipality of Andon-Thorenc, at the foot of the Audibergue ski resort.
