The strange rocks of Mourres (snout in Provençal) are geological formations several meters high located 1.7 miles (2.8 km) from Forcalquier in the direction of Fontienne, on either side of the departmental road. These spectacular limestone masses with unusual shapes of undulations, mounds, haystacks, cylinders, or basins are spread over the vast eponymous plateau that slopes slightly towards the southeast.
