Mentioned from the 13th century under the name of Sainte-Venture Chapel, the chapel at the top of the Sainte-Victoire mountain appeared in the 15th and 16th centuries with variants - Adventura, Aventura or Santo Venturi - with a Latin or Provençal consonance. Until the 17th century, the site was occupied by hermit priests who maintained it and welcomed pilgrims in addition to their meditations and religious services. The edifice was replaced by the current Notre-Dame-de-Victoire Chapel in 1661.
