Cucumis es un género de plantas trepadoras con flores perteneciente a la familia de las Cucurbitáceas, que incluye a Cucumis sativus (pepino). Comprende 254 especies descritas y de estas, solo 50 aceptadas. Entre ellas está la sagittatus. Su fruto es similar a un pequeño melón. No es comestible. Es verde cuando es joven y amarillento cuando está muy maduro. Es propio del Africa austral. También tiene un valor ornamental.
