The volcanic ridges of the alpine looking Massif du Sancy present three peaks exceeding 5,905 feet (1,800 metres). They are Puy Ferrand (6,082 feet / 1,854 metres), Puy de la Perdrix (5,984 feet / 1,824 metres) and Puy de Sancy (6,184 feet / 1,885 metres). From these panoramic promontories one can admire the Dordogne river valley and spot the Chambon and Pavin ‘couzes’ (torrents).
