Designed by the architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the Lalique Museum in Wingen-sur-Moder (Bas-Rhin) presents a true initiatory journey through the main works of the jeweller and master glassmaker René Lalique. His company – founded in 1921 – is still in business a few hundred metres away. His name is still associated with creativity and quality, as Lalique has always designed sumptuous objects. Each year, a temporary summer exhibition highlights a theme dear to the artist, such as his relationship with modern art, travel during the Roaring Twenties or the invention of modern perfume.
