The climate in Alsace is highly changeable depending on the location. It is either continental, oceanic, or mountainous. Some quick temperature changes can generate heavy mists that cover the plain in winter and spring. In addition, summers are hot and sometimes last until the end of October. It allows performing Late Harvest that produce a specific wine. The grapes are covered with a noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) that gives them a rich and unique taste.
