The spotted eagle-owls are mainly nocturnal, and sometimes start to be active just before sunset. At night, they perch in branches, looking for preys. Their attitude is characteristic, with body feathers very tight and erect egrets. Their eyes are wide open. The male and the female sometimes perch together.
