March 11th 2005 saw a new stage in the history of the French Railway Museum in Mulhouse. By becoming the Cité du Train, the establishment entered the 21st century. Completely renovated the previous year, the museum presents a new scenography, the Show Circuit, in a new building, a colourful hangar whose palette is directly inspired by the livery of SNCF rolling stock. Inside, the light and sound effects around the machines illustrate major themes such as travel, official trains, the war and railwaymen.
