Just before dawn, they wake up. Common Cranes (Grus grus) are very early birds. They will soon fly to the neighbouring fields (sometimes several dozen kilometres away) for food. The LPB Champagne-Ardenne (League for the Protection of Birds) is an association whose mission is to protect birds, wildlife, nature and mankind, and to fight against the decline of biodiversity. Volunteers tirelessly count the birds’ arrivals and departures in order to monitor their well-being.
