The Koumourou peninsula, whose silhouette appears on this sunset view of Nouméa, is a wooded area of dry forest. Sanctuarized by the plan of sustainable development of the Caledonian capital, it is part of a protected area. The two bays (Baie Rochel and Baie des Dames) which border the isthmus that separates it from the Numbo and Tindu districts, accommodate fuel and gas storage tanks.
