Facing due west, the promontory of the Point de Vue de l'Anse Marigot on the northern Caribbean coast of Martinique is one of the most renowned places to contemplate the sunset over the Caribbean Sea. It shares this privilege with other sites well known to visitors such as the Grande Anse d'Arlet and its green setting, the garden of Balata perched on the heights of Fort-de-France, the Salines beach at the southern tip of the island, or the rocky cirque of Anse Couleuvre. Facing east, the Atlantic coast of the island, for its part, allows witnessing the sunrise.
