In the 1950s, the Corsican fishermen were over a thousand ; nowadays about two hundred of them go on practicing a mainly artisanal fishing on a fleet of traditional barges. The offshore waters are teeming with fish usually caught at dusk or at dawn, when they hunt. But the most sought after prey is the very profitable lobster.
