Roatán, the largest of the Islas de la Bahía off the coast of Honduras, is surrounded by one of the longest coral reefs in the world, the Mesoamerican reef corals, which stretches up to Cozumel in Mexico. It allows the diving and snorkeling amateurs, both expert and neophyte, to admire corals located just a few meters from the beach and hosts the country's Institute of Marine Sciences.
