Their skeletons give corals the most diverse forms : branchy, lamellar or tabular like Acropores, massive and encrusting like Porites, in foliated cups like Pachyseris or cauliflowered like the Pocillopores of this photo. The thinnest forms are found in calm waters whereas the most massive ones are characteristic of beaten environments.
