Built in the 11th century, the castle chapel of Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt was consecrated in 1056 by Raimbaud, archbishop of Arles, Hugues, bishop of Senez, and Alphant, bishop of Apt, according to two Romanesque inscriptions engraved on the pillars of the choir. It was listed as a Historical Monument in 1921 and today welcomes visitors during the summer, on Sundays in July and August. The chapel benefited from several significant restoration campaigns, notably in the 17th, 18th (after the plague of 1720), and 19th centuries. The last restoration of the building was carried out between 1983 and 2000.
