Le Cèdre à encens ou Cèdre blanc de Californie est un arbre de la famille des Cupressacées, originaire d’Amérique du Nord.
En Europe, il est utilisé comme arbre ornemental dans les parcs et jardins et mesure environ 30 mètres de haut.
Les cônes, de forme ovoïde, mûrissent en septembre et mesurent environ 2 centimètres.
