In 1981, Françoise and Luigi Bergamo acquired the Cornille-Havard foundry. An engineer trained at the ‘Ecole Centrale’ of Paris, Luigi became the first to model the profiles of the bells on a computer. He also developed the acoustic control of bells by an electronic spectrum analyser. Each bell manufactured at the company is initially designed digitally, according to its note: template, mass, thickness, decorations, etc. “The gap between the commission and the finished bell is very small nowadays”, comments Paul Bergamo, who bought the foundry from his parents in 2012.
