A wine label is a bottle’s identity card. In Burgundy, wine producers are required to mention several elements on the labels: the name of the wine, associated with the controlled or protected label of origin (AOC/AOP); the name and address of the bottler, whether it is the producer or a cooperative; the producing country; the bottle’s capacity; the degree of alcohol; the allergens and the mention “contains sulphites” if necessary. Grape variety, ‘climat’, the year of harvest and the vintage are optional.
