Cap Camarat is extended by a small islet called the Rocher des Portes or Îles aux Oiseaux (Birds Island). Located below the lighthouse of Cap Camarat (center right), it forms an ocher rocky outcrop covered with white, the territorial mark of the cormorants residing there throughout the winter. The islet is devoid of flat bottoms and bristling with rocky domes forming as many lookouts for the birds.
