Elephants communicate with each other through rumbling, some of these sounds are audible to humans, others not. These infrasounds can be heard by other elephants up to ten kilometers away. To express discontent, to indicate a danger or sometimes excitement, elephants trumpet. Body posturing is also used as a communication.
