The adult Kuhl's Lorikeet is bright red on the cheeks, chest and front of the belly and green on the upper part of the body. Its neck is barred by a dark blue erectile band. Its short tail is blue on the outside and red in the center. Its rump is bright yellow. A blue-violet zone surrounds its paws at the level of the belly. Its beak and legs are orange.
