The murals of the castle of Guédelon were carried out from 2012-2013 to give color to the interior walls of the castle and, in particular, those of the seigneurial dwelling. Painters favored geometric patterns and floral decorations and mostly used ocher and hematite extracted from the construction site to make their colors. The satisfying hold of the colors and of the whitewash-based coatings and whitewashes as well as the aesthetic result obtained prompted the project managers to extend the murals to several rooms and staircases of Guédelon.
