Colony of weavers

Weavers are mostly gregarious birds living in bands of tens to hundreds of individuals. Constantly foraging, they settle in places that provide them with sustenance and tranquility in their nesting area where they gather in the rainy season.
At nidification time, the large number of nests of easy access containing eggs or youngsters easy to catch on the fly, become prime targets for predators of all kinds : raptors, mammals, tree snakes ... Weavers, however, are not defenseless, their gregariousness allowing them increased surveillance of the surroundings.
