The Coconut Lorikeets (Trichoglossus haematodus) are monogamous, sedentary, gregarious and noisy birds which make short flights above the treetops in search of blooming trees. They have a pointed beak and a tongue with papillae which allow them to extract the pollen and nectar from the flowers on which they mainly feed even if they also consume fruits, berries, seeds, buds and insect larvae.
