These lions are part of a coalition of six males. Laying in the South African bush until dusk, they start to move. The reaction of this lion, pulling back the top lip, is called flehmen. He analyses the smells thanks to his Jacoson's organ, located between the palate and the nose. In this way, lions can for instance identify females in oestrus.
